Photo upload guidelines

We strongly believe that Aviationphotos.fi shouldn't be catalog of aircraft, but rather a place to view beauty of aviation. As such, we select very carefully which images get to the site. Every photograph is required to have 2 votes from 2 different screeners to be accepted or rejected.

You are allowed only to upload photographs which you own copyrights.

Things not allowed and will be most certainly rejected:

• Composite images. Images composed of many photographs to create one photograph, ie. taking a backdrop from different photograph is not allowed.
• Bad quality. Photographs that are blurry, soft, too highly compressed etc. will be rejected.
• Watermarks. Photographs with watermarks will be rejected.

Things we don't want to see but has chance of getting accepted:

• Sideshots. Generelly we don't want to be a catalog of aircrafts, sideshots and other "boring" shots have to have exceptional lighting or other elements to get accepted.

Things we want and encourage/allow:

• Unique, beautiful presentations of aviation and aircraft.
• Unlike most sites, we do allow following editing techniques; Vignettes, HDR images, gradient filters (also colored and ones done in post processing) etc. However, do understand that overediting the shot can get it rejected too.

Technical requirements to uploaded photographs:

• Photographs must be at least 1000 px wide or high depending if shot is landscape or portrait.
• Photographs must be between 4:2 and 2:3 (vertical) aspect ratios. 3:2 is recommended but not required.
• Photographs must be between 200 kB and 1500 kB in size.
